Ziji is a registered clinician from New York who works from a Mind-Body-Spirit approach. Her competencies include Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, and couples work. While relying on evidence-based research, Ziji approaches treatment from a holistic perspective often incorporating Mindfulness exercises and tools to empower clients.
Ziji spent fifteen years working in the wellness retreat industry, part of which she built live mental health training workshops for professionals on topics including Mindfulness (MBSR), Acceptance (ACT), Self-compassion (MBSC), and couples therapy with world-renowned leaders in the field.
Ziji’s expertise in Mindfulness is informed by her completion of Sutrayana Seminary, an advanced Buddhist training program, as well as a decade of study and practice of various Eastern spiritual traditions in India, Thailand and the United States. She completed her M.A. at a Christian university and adds the spiritual dimension into treatment planning for clients who find it beneficial.
Ziji received a B.A. in Neuroscience from Smith College, and worked in pharmaceutical marketing for six years to arrive at the conclusion that healing is vastly different from the goal of managing symptoms.
People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own souls. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. ― Carl Jung, Psychology & Alchemy
