Alicia Harrington is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University. Alicia is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Social Welfare at Florida International University.
Alicia has a background working with human trafficking victims, within the child welfare system, and working at an in-patient residential treatment center providing group, individual, and family therapy. She understands the importance of working with individuals, couples, and families from a systemic lens in order to identify areas of holistic and tangible change. Alicia’s unconditional positive regard paired with her direct communication style allows for quick rapport-building necessary for a healthy therapeutic relationship.
Alicia primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and elements of Solution-Focused Therapy from a strengths-based perspective to help her clients reframe thinking and capitalize on personal strengths to create positive change within their lives.
