This Years’s theme for the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week” is “Every Body Has a Seat at the Table”. The focus is to raise awareness and open discussion about individuals impacted by eating disorders, no matter age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, cultural and socioeconomic background. The goal is to challenge systemic biases and also connect to unrepresented groups.
Eating Disorders can include anorexia nervosa, binge-eating, avoidant restrictive food intake, bulemia nervosa compulsive exercising. Struggles with body image and low self esteem as well as anxiety and depression can also be present.
