Anna Halliday (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor
in the states of Florida and New York. Anna attended the University of Miami for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. She later earned a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Anna’s competence includes extensive experience in the assessment and strategic treatment of mood disorders and trauma as both a clinician and researcher. Her post-graduate experience includes evaluating, planning courses of treatment, conducting biofeedback, and providing counseling for patients living with chronic pain and recovering from traumatic injuries. Anna was also on staff as a psychotherapist at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, where she counseled queer individuals and attended a couples and family therapy training program. At her graduate internship, she supported low-income families and children through behavioral therapy. Anna now provides psychotherapy in private practice settings throughout Miami to individuals, couples, and families. In addition to her on-site experience, she writes blog and newsletter entries about relationships, stress management, and mental health. Furthermore, her research piece discussing the ethical counseling of queer minority men was published in The Graduate Student Journal of Psychology (2015).
Anna counsels clients from a dynamic, identity-affirmative approach utilizing warmth and compassion. Through therapy, she enjoys helping clients develop a unique voice in which to frame their personal life narrative. She has training and experience working with culturally diverse and marginalized populations coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, disability, sexual issues, and identity exploration. Anna is passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community and has a couples/family therapy background in addition to her various specialties.
