Alexandra Vavoulis is a registered mental health counselor intern. Alexandra received a bachelors degree in Economics from Texas Christian University and then continued on to receive her masters degree in Counseling from California State University Fullerton. Alexandra has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. 

In her traineeship, she worked as a school based therapists with elementary and middle school clients. In this setting Alexandra saw a diverse population presenting with anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. 

After graduation, Alexandra pursued a career in Eating Disorder treatment. She worked as a primary therapist at Center for Discovery and Oliver Pyatt Centers where she gained experience in the residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient level of care. Alexandra worked with a diverse population in treatment presenting with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, OCD, and bipolar disorders. 

Alexandra takes a holistic approach to working with clients and pulls from multiple theoretical orientations including person- centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, family systems, among others. Alexandra’s therapeutic base is guided through a psychodynamic lens which explores and connects the past with the present. She approaches therapy as the clients space, hour, and time to explore, understand, and help the client evolve into their best self.
